APC gets more support, members in Sokoto
According to him, a PDP singer in the state, Mallam Sadiq Dan-Baiwa, has also dumped the PDP for the APC, saying “his former party disappointed him.”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has continued to garner more support as many loyalists of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have continued to join the party in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by Bashar Abubakar, Special Adviser on New Media, to Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) on Thursday in Sokoto.
Abubakar said that the recent development was the defection of one of the PDP's influential youth, Alhaji Abdulmutallib Abdullahi, along with his supporters.
"Abdullahi comes from the Sarkin Adar/Kofar Atiku ward of the Sokoto South Local Government Area of the state, where the PDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Sa'idu Umar, comes from.
"Similarly, another big catch from the PDP is Alhaji Bello Farido from the Tudun Wada ward of the same local government."
"A former councillor from Sarkin Zamfara's "B" ward in the same local government area, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, also left the PDP for the APC," Abubakar said.
According to him, a PDP singer in the state, Mallam Sadiq Dan-Baiwa, has also dumped the PDP for the APC, saying "his former party disappointed him."
The defectors were all welcomed into APC by the party's governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, with assurances of equal treatment in the affairs of the party.
He also called on them to mobilize more support for the APC to win elections at all levels.
In another development, Aliyu has congratulated Alhaji Auwal Jaredi on his appointment as a member of the Youth Mobilization Committee, North West, Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council.
Aliyu described the appointment as well deserved and wished the appointee all the best in discharging his duty
