Islamic organisations in Zamfara deny claim of Christian genocide in Nigeria
It is becoming clear by the day that the present American Government is actively working against the interest of peace in Nigeria.;
The Umbrella of islamic organisations in Zamfara, ‘Zamfara Muslims League For Peace And Development’, has rejected claims by the U.S. President, Donald Trump of Christian genocide in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the League, Dr Aliyu Jangebe, rejected the claims at a news briefing in Gusau on Monday.
Jangebe stated that Trump made an accusation of Christian genocide in Nigeria recently.
He said, “Surprisingly, the U.S. President even confirmed that Churches were being burnt and Christians killed virtually everyday.
“It is becoming clear by the day that the present American Government is actively working to against the interest of peace in Nigeria.
“We consider the threat by the U.S. President as a plot to instigate a religious crisis in the country by provoking the Muslim population.”
Jangebe further said that the group comprised over 40 islamic organisations, adding, ,”we dismissed claimed by U.S. President of Christian genocide in Nigeria.
“We are therefore calling on President Tinubu to tread carefully.
“Mr President should remember that he rode to power on the goodwill of Shari’ah loving Muslim population of this country.
“We also call on muslims representatives in the Senate and the House of Reps never to allow themselves to be used for the achievement of crooked objectives detrimental to the interests of those they represent.
“Our Governors and members of the respective state assemblies not to relent or give in on this matter.
“Our leaders must stand firm and ensure our freedoms in a sovereign Nigeria,” Jangebe added.
