Nasarawa Assembly calls for promotion of sporting activities

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, says the house will continue to support sporting activities in the state to entrench a harmonious living among the people.
The Speaker stated this when the Nasarawa State Secondary School Deaf Football Team visited him in Lafia on Wednesday.
Jatau said sports has become a unifying factor in the present society, and the State Assembly under his watch will support it adequately.
” I want to appreciate you for this visit and to assure you that the 7th Assembly under my watch will continue to support sporting activities in the state,” he said
Jatau commended the team for making the state proud at all national events.
He pledged the assembly’s continued support to enable them to win more trophies for the State.
The speaker called on the players to continue to embrace team work and live in unity with one another.
Earlier, the Coach of the team, Mr Uba Mohammed said that six players have been selected to join the national team due to their skills.
Uba informed the speaker that the team had won the national tournament for Secondary School Deaf Football Competition three conservative times.
He assured the speaker of their prayers and zeal to do more for his constituents and the state in general.
