Ikorodu City extend home dominance with 2–0 win over Tornadoes
The feeling is the same whether we play at home or away. Every match matters to us.
Ikorodu City FC have extended their home unbeaten run, defeating Niger Tornadoes 2–0 on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League Match Day 25 fixture.
Supreme news reports that the Oga Boys recorded their 11th home win of the season, remaining unbeaten at their Onikan stronghold.
Ikorodu City have not lost at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, playing 13 home matches with nine wins and four draws.
Their draws came against El-Kanemi Warriors, Enyimba International, Rivers United and Katsina United in tightly contested goalless or 1–1 encounters.
Joseph Arumala starred for the hosts, scoring twice to secure maximum points for the Bright Ozadegbe-coached side.
Arumala opened scoring in the 33rd minute from the spot after referee ruled Chidera Opara was fouled inside the penalty area.
He sealed victory late on, finishing calmly in the 88th minute after receiving a precise pass from defender Jaguar Uche.
Ozadegbe said the team maintained identical focus home or away, insisting consistency of mindset remained central to their strong performances.
“The feeling is the same whether we play at home or away. Every match matters to us.
“Arumala is improving and taking it one goal at a time. He is important to us.
“We will keep picking points and see where we finish. We approach the season one game at a time,” he said.
