ALPi deepens African reach with Effi & Associés partnership

Africa Law Practice International (ALPi) has expanded its footprint into Francophone West Africa with the admission of Effi & Associés as its 10th member firm.

Supreme news reports that ALPi is a leading business law firm based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The on-boarding ceremony, held at Effi & Associés’ offices in Abidjan, marks a significant milestone in ALPi’s strategic expansion across the continent.

A Senior Partner of ALP Nigeria, Mr Olasupo Shasore (SAN), while welcoming the new members, said with the development, the Pan-African legal and professional services network operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Namibia, Mauritius, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Shasore said the new development made it one of Africa’s most geographically diverse and AfCFTA-focused law networks.

The learned silk further described the partnership as “fantastic news” for ALPi and its clients across the ten African Union member states where it operates.

The senior lawyer also said the new Côte d’Ivoire member woul be formally introduced at ALPi’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for February 2026 in Accra, Ghana.

Shasore said the meeting would enable partners from all member to discuss the group’s 2026–2030 growth strategy.

He praised Dr Serge Effi, the Managing Partner of Effi & Associés, for his cross-border expertise and bilingual strength, saying the firm’s inclusion enhances ALPi’s capacity to serve clients in both civil and common law systems.

Also speaking, Senior Partner of Africa Legal Associates (ALP Ghana), Mr Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, said the expansion aligned with ALPi’s vision of building a one-stop, high-quality advisory platform for clients seeking to operate across Africa’s emerging single market.

In his response, Effi expressed excitement about joining the Pan-African network, noting that the partnership strengthened Effi & Associés’ ability to provide seamless legal services across jurisdictions.

He said the move reflected Africa’s direction toward deeper integration and professional cooperation.

Partner at ALP Nigeria, Mr Uyi Giwa-Osagie, lauded the development, noting that Effi & Associés’ entry would further boost business and trade relations between Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, two of West Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
