Mr Babatunde Solomon, the Proprietor of the Young Stars Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, has urged parents to stop bullying and harassing teachers over their children’s average academic performance.
Solomon, who gave the advice in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the news men, said that teachers were not robots and should not be target for parents.
According to him, most parents are fond of harassing teachers for their children’s academic performance, forgetting that both parents and teachers have roles to play in raising them.
“Most teachers have been attacked by parents, when they are not impressed with their children’s performances.
“Some parents will transfer aggression on teachers and threaten them for doing their job and trying to correct their children.
“Teachers are gradually becoming the target for parents. They just bully and harass teachers in the school premises or outside the school.
“Parents must stop this bad act and cooperate with the teachers to shape the life of their children,” the proprietor said.
He urged parents to learn how to approach issues calmly and not necessarily, put pressure on teachers.
Solomon said that teachers needed the support of parents to reshape the life of the children, which was not a one-sided responsibility.
He advised parents to create time for their children in spite of their busy schedules
