Nasarawa SUBEB revokes 9 contracts, suspends 2 over shoddy jobs

The Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Kassim Kassim, says that the board has revoked nine contracts and suspended two contracts over shoddy jobs.

Kassim said this on Tuesday when he led other management team of the board on a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau in Lafia.

Kassim said that the contracts were revoked and suspended over poor quality work.

He said that the visit was to condole with the Speaker over the death of his younger sister, Hajaratu.

Kassim said the visit was also meant to appreciate the Speaker for the role he played during their screening and confirmation.

“We are here to register our loyalty and to say thank you for our screening and confirmation as chairman and members of the board.

“Mr Speaker, we want to disclose here that we have revoked 9 contracts and suspend two contracts over low job standard,” he said

Kassim also decried proliferation of private schools in the state while calling for synergy to tackle illegal establishment of private schools in the state.

Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly appreciated the SUBEB Chairman and his management team for the visit and for condoling with him over the death of his sister.

Jatau commended the board chairman for hitting the ground running for improved standard of education.

“I am happy and I want to commend you on the positive steps you have taken towards reviving primary education in the state,” he said.

Jatau also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his passion in the education sector.

“We must work together with His Excellency and you to revive our primary schools in the state,” he said.

The Speaker assured of his support to enable them succeed.
