Unknown gunmen attack radio, television stations in Rivers State

Unknown gunmen have attacked bombed a popular Radio Station, Wish FM 99.5 and Atlantic Television Network in Ozuoba, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State .

They went to the stations with explosive devices suspected to be dynamites amid sporadic gunshots.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday about 8:40 p.m., resulted in the damage of some equipment and property.

The two media organisations are controlled by Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives and strong supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Igwe verified the occurrence when called on Wednesday morning, stating, "What I am delighted about is that no lives were lost."
