On Tuesday, a trailer carrying powdered milk crashed into a mosque in Suleja, Niger State, trapping at least three people inside.

According to DAILY TRUST, the tragedy occurred around 6 a.m., when many individuals were leaving the mosque after morning prayers.

According to eyewitness reports, the trailer crashed into the section of the mosque where women and children worship.

However, three persons, including a child, were injured after becoming trapped in the ruins.

When a DAILY TRUST reporter visited the scene, sympathisers could be seen surrounding the overturned vehicle, which was blocking a portion of the busy Biba Road near the Babangida Market.

The trailer reportedly overturned while attempting to navigate a narrow section of road obstructed by a pile of sand used in the construction of new stores.

Baba Maiunguwa, a local resident, told our reporter that three persons had been transported to Suleja General Hospital for treatment.

He stated that the incident occurred after Subh (early morning prayer). One of the three individuals taken to the hospital is a child. Thank God, there was no fatality.

"We are fortunate that, after the prayer, people have departed the mosque. It would have been unfortunate, as the mosque was packed during rituals.
