Sales rep remanded for alleged murder of female colleague

An Iyaganku Family Court in Ibadan on Thursday ordered the remand of a sales representative, Opeyemi Oginni, 18, be remanded in Agodi Correctional Facility for the alleged murder of his female colleague.
The police charged Oginni with murder.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Patricia Adetuyibi, who did not take the plea of Oginni for want of jurisdiction, ordered his remand at the Agodi Correctional Facility, Agodi, Ibadan.
Adetuyibi adjourned the matter until Feb. 9 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Folake Ewe, told the court that Oginni, on Nov. 5, at about 9 a.m. in the Ipapo area of Okaka, Oyo State, caused the death of his colleague, a 15-year-old girl.
She said the suspect and others were hawkers of the "New Life" supplement.
The police said that Oginni found a gun on the road and shot at his colleague, injuring her in the thigh, which led to her death.
The offense, she said, violates Section 316 and is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
