The Police Command in Enugu State has arrest three suspects for making a fake outrageous viral video showing a woman beaten and her hair forceful shaved in Nsukka axis of Enugu State.

This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Wednesday in Enugu.

According to him, police operatives serving in Nsukka Area Command of the Enugu State Command on Aug. 14, identified and arrested three suspects.

“The trio and others at large are involved in the viral video wherein one Chinenye Agbo was seen being beaten, her cloth torn and stripped, and her hair forcefully shaved.

“This is on the allegation of beating up one Anastasia and giving her a human bite on the chest.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the trio are, however, claiming that the video, which has generated public outcry and condemnation due to the inconceivable assault, inhuman and degrading treatments meted out on Chinenye as seen in the video, is a prank.

“The prank, they confessed, was meant to garner followers on their social media accounts,” he said.

Ndukwe said that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Ammani, had condemned the act, and ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu, to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those found culpable, to serve as a deterrent to anyone who may want to perpetrate such an act under the guise of a prank,” he said.
