Breaking: Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso withdraw from ECOWAS

Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Mali have formally withdrawn from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The announcement, which was just now made today, is effective immediately.

It was received via a joint communiqué issued by the three nations' presidents.
