Comrade Ayuba Wabba, former NLC President, addressed protestors in Abuja and chastised successive governments for failing to fix Nigeria's oil refineries.

Protesters broke down the barricade at the outside entrance to the National Assembly (NASS) complex on Wednesday morning to express their dissatisfaction with the federal government's fuel subsidy elimination.

On Wednesday, Comrade (Barrister) Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led trade unions in protesting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Comrade Ayuba Wabba, former NLC President, addressed protestors in Abuja and chastised successive governments for failing to fix Nigeria's oil refineries.

He questioned why the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries have not been repaired despite the federal government's numerous promises, noting that Nigeria is the only oil-producing nation without a single functional refinery.

He accused the political elites and their businessmen accomplices of robbing the country of its wealth, and he added that the wealthy few have Nigeria by the jugular. He stated that the wealthy are exploiting the poor.

Supreme News reports that protesters burst through the National Assembly's first gate and entered the building.

As of the time of filing this report, they are presently present on NASS grounds.
