The senior advocate of Nigeria said the nomination of Adelami was a demonstration of the readiness of Aiyedatiwa to elevate Ondo state to new heights.

An Abuja-based legal luminary, Dr Kayode Ajulo (SAN) has urged the Ondo State House of Assembly to swiftly confirm Olayide Adelami, as the state’s Deputy Governor.

Ajulo, an indigene of Ondo state, emphasised on the significance of expeditious proceedings on the issue, for the state to make progress.

Ajulo said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, while extolling Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership for identifying a reliable and competent co-pilot.

Supreme News recalls that Aiyedatiwa, who was deputy to late Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu, had earlier nominated Adelami as his deputy, following his emergence as governor.

The senior advocate of Nigeria said the nomination of Adelami was a demonstration of the readiness of Aiyedatiwa to elevate Ondo state to new heights.

The legal luminary described Adelami as a capable partner, which would herald good governance for the people of Ondo, adding that he is a progressive technocrat with a commendable track record.

He said the former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly and pioneer of critical departments at the Federal level possessed a wealth of experience poised to enrich Aiyedatiwa’s administration and contribute to Ondo state’s advancement.

“Chief Adelami is one of the finest technocrats of Ondo state extraction. He was a pioneer staff of the Constituent Assembly which became the present-day National Assembly.

“He set up the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly and the Accounts Department of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund among others.”

He said Aiyedatiwa deserved to be applauded for recognising an indigene of Owo, a testament to his respect for the entire Owo kingdom and a worthy tribute to Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
