2023 Poll: PDP Chairman urges members on mending fences

Alhaji Bello Goronyo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Sokoto state chapter, has tasked the party loyalists on mending fences and strengthening cordial relationships among party members.
Goronyo made the call at a stakeholders' consultative meeting for the 2023 polls on Thursday in Sokoto.
He emphasised the need for party stakeholders in the state to ensure massive grassroots mobilisation for the 2023 General Elections.
The party chairman assured members that PDP would continue to live up to the expectations of providing quality leadership that would uphold its policies of enhancing people's wellbeing at all levels.
Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, the Director-General, PDP governorship campaign council, urged the members to engage in door- to-door mobilisation to ensure the party's victory.
Suleiman, a former Minister for Transportation, said the party members have a collective duty to canvass for more support for the party.
He said that the PDP believed in democracy, saying, " it is focused on winning all elective positions in the country."
Suleiman urged Nigerians to vote wisely by voting for PDP at all levels.
"Our confidence is driven by the unprecedented support being enjoyed by PDP in the state. Sokoto people have moved in the right direction by supporting PDP at all levels,'' Suleiman said.
Earlier, Alhaji Muktar Maigona, Director, Field Operations of the campaign council, urged that the party must mobilise supporters from the grassroots to ensure landslide victory in the 2023 polls.
Maigona said that the meeting was convened to marshal out strategies for a successful electioneering for the 2023 elections in the state.
"All the leadership hierarchy from ward to state levels had been mobilised for the meeting to mend fences on burning issues and critical areas for stakeholders' intervention.
"It was intended to proffer solutions as we move forward in our campaigns activities," Maigona said.
The state PDP deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Sagir Attahiru-Bafarawa, said the party would make history in the state by a recording a resounding victory in the poll.
"We are ready and will remain resilient to return massive votes for our presidential and governorship candidates," Attahiru-Bafarawa said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was held in batches with members from Binji, Tangaza and Kware Local Government Area.
