“The device will further boost efficiency and transparency in both collation and transmission of results in this presidential and the governorship elections.”

A member, representing Mushin I Federal Constituency, Mr Yemi Alli, says the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Registration System (BVAS) by INEC is a positive game changer to the 2023 general elections.

Alli said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Saturday after casting his vote at PU 023 Macaulay Street,

Mushin in the Feb. 25 Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) elections.

The lawmaker said that the technology would eliminate electoral malpractices hindering the conduct of transparent elections in the country.

Alli, the APC candidate for Mushin I Federal Constituency, said that the device was a remarkable improvement over the card reader that was used in the past elections.

He added that “sincerely, I believe that the introduction of BVAS technology into the new electoral act is the real game changer.

“The device will further boost efficiency and transparency in both collation and transmission of results in this presidential and the governorship elections.”

He explained that accreditation was faster compared to the card reader used in the past elections.

Also, the PDP Candidate, Mushin II Federal Constituency, Mr Jude Obiekwu, commended the voters for their massive turnout.

He said that “for me, I have never seen what I saw today because of the level of enthusiasm from voters for coming out to exercise their civic responsibility.

“Like I said, the turnout has shown the level of enthusiasm from the electorate to make a change for a better Nigeria.

“I want this positive enthusiasm and massive turnout of voters to be extended to the governorship and house of assembly elections in the next two weeks.”
