The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBU -TH) has started a five-day-training programme for 110 staff from its various departments on Information Communication Technology (ICT) .

The training is to make them be compliant with the electronic health(e-health) practice for service delivery.

Dr Sa’id Abubakar, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the hospita, said this on Tuesday during an interview in Bauchi.

He said that the training was also part of the institutions’ mandate for positive research.

“ICT training is a path to electronic heath.

“It will also enhance record keeping and ease referral across various departments,” he said.

Also, Dr Kefas Bwala, the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee on Training in the hospital , said that the exercise focused on the Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme.

He said that the institution had prioritised training and retraining of staff for effective healthcare services.

He added that the facility would be transformed in line with the global practice of Electronic Medical Health.

Kefas encouraged participants to take advantage of the training to learn more on ICT techniques.

He said that the training which started on Aug.9 would end on to Aug.13, 2021.

Kefas said that the exercise was organised by the hospital in partnership with Digital Bridge Institute and International Center for Information and Technology Studies.
