WAFCON: Sunshine Queens congratulate Super Falcons

Sunshine Queens FC of Akure have congratulated the Super Falcons on their victory against their Morocco counterparts in the final match of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Supreme news reports that the Super Falcons came from 2-0 down to beat the host nation, Morocco 3-2 to win their record 10th WAFCON title.

The Management of Sunshine Queens and players in a statement on Sunday in Akure congratulated the team on their victory after a pulsating final.

The statement signed by the Team Manager, Kehinde Odogun, noted that the dramatic comeback by the Super Falcons exemplified the unyielding Nigerian spirit of resilience, fearlessness and doggedness.

“It is a victory that not only brings glory to the nation but also rekindles hope and inspiration for women football across the country.

“Sunshine Queens FC firmly believes that this historic win will further elevate the profile of female football in Nigeria with more support, and solidify our continued dominance on the African continent.

“We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Nigeria Football Federation, the National Sports Commission, Nigeria Women Football League and other stakeholders for their contribution in this victory.
