“Flying Eagles should work hard as a team and don’t show any form of weakness till the game ends, I wish them all the best,”Abdulmalik said.

Football fans in Lagos on Friday backed Nigeria’s Flying Eagles to beat South Korea in their quarter-final clash at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina on Sunday.

In separate interviews, the fans backed the Flying Eagles to excel against their next opponent having played well and up to expectations in their previous matches.

David Augustine, a student, who said members of the Flying Eagles were playing with a lot determination and zeal, urged them to train and work harder in order to win their next match.

“The team is good, they are playing with a lot of determination and have done well to reach the quarter-final stage; they should simply keep up with their hard and do their best,” Augustine said.

Micheal Okoli, 16, also a student, said he was impressed with the performance of the Flying Eagles so far, but that they needed to work harder and use the experience gathered in their previous games.

“They are a good team but need to work hard on their tactics, they did well against Argentina as nobody gave them a chance to win that match.

“Going against South Korea, they also have to perform at that same level and give their best to win, they should stick together as a team,” Okoli said.

Another young football fan, Christopher Abdumalik, said he was very happy about the success of the Flying Eagles so far and urged them not to underrate the South Koreans.

“I don’t think the game against South Korea is going to be easy because they also worked hard to reach the quarter-final stage.

“Flying Eagles should work hard as a team and don’t show any form of weakness till the game ends, I wish them all the best,”Abdulmalik said.

Supreme reports that the Flying Eagles are the only African team left in the competition, and will engage South Korea in the quarter-final on Sunday.

African representatives like Tunisia, Uganda and highly rated Senegal have since dropped out.

Other quarter-final pairings are: Israel versus Brazil, Italy playing against Colombia and USA squaring up against Uruguay.
