The Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr Eric Odoh has promised to promote sports competitions among public schools in the area.
Odo stated this during the 2025 Annual Inter-House Sports Competition on Thursday in Enugu.
The Public Schools Supervision Committee (PSSC) and the Education Secretaries in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State organised the competition.
The chairman promised to sustain the legacy of sports competitions during his days in school.
He disclosed that many talents, who were discovered during the competition, are doing well on the global stage and reiterated his commitment to sports development.
Odo applauded the PSSC and the Education Secretaries for organising the competition, urging them not to rest on their oars.
Earlier, the chairman of the PSSC, Dr Amadi Aroh said the school inter-house competition was aimed at enhancing the physical, social, and mental development of the pupils.
According to Aroh, the sporting competition is in line with the mandate of the committee to restore the lost glory of public schools in the area.
