Beach Volleyball: We’ll start early preparations for world championship – Ajilore

The Head Coach of the Nigerian Beach Volleyball team, Kayode Ajilore, has said that they will start early preparations immediately having now qualified for the world championship.
Ajilore told newsmen on Monday in Abuja that the girls did well in their competitions, adding that they have secured a ticket for the world championship in November.
Supreme news reports that the pair of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa beat Egypt 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 15-9) to finish in third place at the just-concluded CAVB Continental Championship in Martil, Morocco.
Nigeria beat Kenya in the first match 2-0; beat Botswana 2-0 in the second match and Gambia 2-1 in the third match, but lost their fourth game to Rwanda 0-2.
“Nigeria women’s beach volleyball team has now qualified for the 2025 World Championship in Adelaide, Australia, in November,” Ajilore said.
The coach congratulated the players for giving their best during the championship.
He said the result in Morocco was an indication of hard work and determination from the entire team.
“I want to give glory to God for crowning our little efforts with success. The players have shown the world that the African Games silver medal was no fluke.
“They played to every instruction given to them. The girls were determined to represent the country in Australia for the world championship.
“We will start preparations for the world championship immediately so that we can also have a good result at the end of the tournament,” the coach said.
Ajilore appreciated the efforts of Musa Nimrod, President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, for creating a platform for the players to excel.
“I want to thank our president, Nimrod, for believing in us and giving us the platform to succeed in the competition.
“We also thank the board members of NVBF that supported the entire team before and during the tournament, and the Sports Secretary of the Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku, for standing out for the entire team in Morocco.
“Onikeku stood with us throughout the championship and encouraged us financially and mentally.
“His presence was a great boost to the morale of players and coaches during the championship in Morocco,” he said.
Supreme news reports that the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championship will hold in Adelaide, Australia, from Nov. 14 to Nov.23.
