SON awards ISO certification so Society for Family Health

The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has awarded the Society for Family Health (SFH) with with ISO 90001:2015 certification.

The ISO 90001:2015 is an international standard devoted to Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Briefing newsmen at the certification ceremony held at SFH’s head office, the SFH Managing Director Dr Omokhudu Idogho expressed delight.

”The SFH has been in the Nigerian Healthcare market for 35 years.

”We have worked hard to gain the confidence of our communities and customers by remaining steadfast and uncompromising in the quality of our service delivery.

”Getting the ISO certification is a worthy confirmation of the meticulous work that we have put into quality assurance over the years”.

Idogho stated that in 2011, the SFH set out on an ambitious project to build a standard central warehouse complex to manage the receipt, sorting and storage of all imported and locally sourced commodities procured by its in-house projects and units.

He said that by the end of 2012, the project was completed with support from some donors.

“The central warehouse is located in Otta, Ogun. It is the first port of delivery for all our imported and locally sourced commodities before they are distributed to third party warehouses and SFH offices.

“This warehouse complex also accommodates SFH’s Water Guard Plus production factory and is designed to further strengthen her already trusted supply chain system.

”For about three years, SFH liaised with the SON concerning attaining the ISO 90001: 2015 certificate,” he said.

Also speaking, the SFH Deputy Managing Director, Operations and Health Industry Relations, Kenechukwu Eruchalu said: ”considering the society’s growing customer base and our resolve to deliver only quality services to all Nigerians, it became increasingly important for us to be audited by the SON.

‘Being awarded the ISO 90001: 2015 certificate is rewarding”.

In his remarks, Dr Justin Nickaf, Director Corporate Affairs & SON Consults , said that the SFH has now earned the brown certification from SON in recognition of its conformity to internationally acceptable standard requirements.

SFH is a leading non-governmental organisation, working in partnership with communities, government, donors and the private sector for universal health coverage and social justice for all Nigerians.
