Sen. Rafiu Ibrahim has sympathized with the Aromoye family in Ojoku over the death of their kinsman, Alhaji Bello Usman Babatunde.

The senator who paid a condolence visit to his country home, Ojoku on Tuesday, is also a descendant of the Aromoye family.

He met with the wife, children and other immediate family members of the deceased.

Ibrahim, who represented Kwara South in the 8th National Assembly, described the death of Babatunde as shocking and painful.

Until his death, Babatunde was a devoted Muslim and a strong community leader who participated actively in the development of the family and his community.

“I received the news of his death with a rude shock and sadness, it is my prayer that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” he said.

The senator also visited the matriarch of the Aromoye, Alhaja Hassanat Sadiq, the Iyalode of Ojoku, and prayed Allah forgives the souls of the departed in the family and grant them Aljannah Firdaus.

Emotion laden Hajia Hassanat prayed for the former lawmaker for his responsiveness and support at all times to the family and the community.

She however urged every member of the family to stay united and and live together in peace.

During the visit, Ibrahim also commisserated with some other family members in Ojoku who had recently lost their loved ones.

He extended his condolences to the immediate and extended families of the deceased as well as their entire family members.

Ibrahim rounded up with the visit to the palace of Olojoku of Ojoku, HRH Oba Abdulrasaq Adegboyega Afolabi Iyiolasemi III, where he paid homage to the traditional ruler in preparation for the Eid-fitr celebration, which marks the end of this year’s Ramadan.

The traditional ruler prayed God Almighty to accept all the acts of Ibadaah during the holy month and grant the ummah (Muslim community) its rewards.
