Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi says the security of the Gulf states and Egypt’s national security are interconnected.

A statement by the Egyptian presidency said Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.

The meeting tackled different aspects of bilateral ties and regional issues, especially the developments in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Afghanistan, the statement added.

According to the statement, the two sides agreed on the importance of coordinating efforts toward promoting solidarity among all the Arab countries.

Sisi, the statement added, also highlighted the Egyptian-Kuwaiti ties that have been extended for decades via fruitful cooperation and coordination, stressing “Egypt’s keenness to advance the strong mutual cooperation for the interests of the two peoples and the entire Arab nation.”
