Social media influencers counsel youths on internet benefits

Mr Ololade Akinmolayan and Mrs Kehinde Akinmolayan, social media influencers, have urged youths to leverage the internet space to enhance their economic wellbeing and impact positively on the society.
The duo gave the advice when they were being unveiled as Planpadi brand ambassadors by Mr Kolade Adetoyinbo , the Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of WeixelTech Ltd, in Akure on Thursday.
Planpadi is a brand of the WeixelTech Ltd. which creates platform for event vendors and their potential clients.
The brand also offers the online ticketing service which gives room for event organisers to sell tickets for their events.
Speaking at the event, Akinmolayan said though some abuse the social media space but many people use it in positive ways especially for business purpose.
He said the internet had great audience that young people take advantage of for their content creation and earn income.
The social media influencer described Planpadi as a trusted platform.
“The Planpadi resonates with us. We are not just content creators or social media influencers but we have been in the event space for a decade. We have been event managers and vendors
“In every stage and process of an event we have been part of it. We have seen lapses involved in event organization in different aspects of it.
“This platform will enable you to get good clients and good vendors . Just ensure that your profile is solid and let your work speak for you.
“If you’re efficient and good at what you do, put yourself on the Planpadi and you are assured that that you will get well paid clients,’’ he said.
Similarly, Kehinde urged content creators and digital media users to ensure that they deployed the right tools to maximise the internet effect.
“Social media has been wonderful. Make your content known and be consistent with what you are presenting and it will get to the right audience to achieve your aim.
“Planpadi is there to make youths display their contents for patronage and when they sign in on the platform,’’ she said.
Earlier, Adetoyinbo said that the Nigerian environment offers youths the opportunity to succeed if they could be consistent in their contents.
“We are not restricted by physical location. We cut across the country. Our targeted customers extend to Nigerians in diaspora that want to plan or organise events in the country.
“Our platform makes it easier for the vendors on the platform to make their products visible,’’ he said.
He described the newly unveiled ambassadors as influential individuals on the social media with a good followership.
