The Federal Government said on Wednesday in Abuja that it was committed to providing the conducive atmosphere for the growth of home grown technologies.

Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Mrs Esuabana Nko-Asanye, said this when the management of Sysmax Technologies Ltd., an indigenous software company paid her a courtesy visit.

Nko-Asanye said the government was conscious of the role of home grown technologies to the advancement of economic growth and national development.

Nko-Asanye, represented by Mr Ronald Ukpong, Director, Science and Technology Promotion, encouraged Nigerians to embrace emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and robotics to be globally competitive.

She said the ministry, and agencies under it were creating awareness and advocacy to enhance technological breakthroughs in the country.

She restated that no country could develop without the full deployment of science and technology apparatus.

She commended the company for striving to develop technological solutions to support both small and medium scale enterprises in the country.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, Sysmax Technologies, Mr Charles Ona, said the visit was to seek partnership with the ministry in the area of software designs, big data among others.

He further said the company’s operations and products aimed to provide solutions to bridge income economic gaps.
