This is the second time in recent years that Anambra is winning four top awards at the NCCIDE, having achieved a similar feat in 2023.

Anambra has won four awards at the 13th National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE), emerging as Nigeria’s leading state in digital advancement.

Mr Fred Agbata, Managing Director of the Anambra State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Agency, made the announcement on Friday in Awka.

The award ceremony, which took place from Monday, Dec. 8 to Dec. 12 in Jos, Plateau, was held to review digital progress and chart pathways to drive national digital inclusion.

The meeting had the theme: “Accelerating Inclusive Digital Transformation: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Sustainable Growth Through Innovation.”

Agbata said Anambra clinched the award for Best Overall State in ICT Development and also won Best State in ICT Human Capital Development.

He said the state further emerged Second Runner-Up in Infrastructure Development and Second Runner-Up in E-Government Implementation.

According to him, the awards underscored the collective efforts driving the state’s digital agenda.

“This is the second time in recent years that Anambra is winning four top awards at the NCCIDE, having achieved a similar feat in 2023.

“The recognitions reflect the digital transformation agenda of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, whose administration has prioritised broadband expansion, e-governance solutions and ICT skill development.

“These initiatives form a key part of the state’s Smart Mega City vision,” he said.

Agbata expressed gratitude for Soludo’s support and leadership.

He noted that the achievements were the outcome of a deliberate policy direction anchored on the ‘Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere’ vision.
