Shun religious, tribal sentiments Fintiri urges Adamawa residents

Represented by his deputy, Mr Crowther Seth, the governor said that, “no nation can develop without unity, love and peace.”

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has urged people of the state to shun religious and tribal sentiments for sustainable social and economic development of the state.

Fintiri made the call on Monday at the 28th Annual Convention of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Women Wing, Adamawa chapter, held in Fufore, Fufore Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by his deputy, Mr Crowther Seth, the governor said that, "no nation can develop without unity, love and peace."

He enjoined the people to pray for lasting peace, unity, harmony and development of Adamawa, Nigeria and the world at large.

"I call upon you to unite and shun religious, tribal or any form of sentiments because your efforts in propagating the gospel will not be in vein.

"I, therefore, urge you to remain resolute in Christ and shun tendencies of disunity,'' he said.

While commending the association for its support to his administration, Fintiri urged it not to be discouraged.

Also speaking, Ms Helen Magani, Chairperson of the association, said the conference was part of comprehensive campaing to promote unity among its members.
