Poem: THE AFRICAN WOMAN

Strong beyond measure
A Lucky man’s treasure
Dogged and resilient
Stubborn but prudent
A true fighter of poverty
Serious over everything no novelty
The neck that carries the big head
Willing to share even the last bread
The pride of her father
The jewel of her lover
All she do wrong is cry
Never held back tears however she try
But bounces back after every pain
She smiles again like sun after rain
Like a lioness she hunts for the family
Are women truly weaker vessels?
Where was the lion when lioness went hunting?
Only a handful of men can beat her strength
I so much respect my African woman
