The Parent’s Forum of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, has donated an ultra-modern medical centre and ambulance to the institution.

The Vice-President of the forum, Mr Oritseweyinmi Boyo, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

Boyo said the parents deemed it fit to make such laudable contribution to the development of the institution and also gave the students and staff a world class medical facility experience.

He commended the efforts of Mrs Uche Omotayo of Blougat Nig Ltd, the contractor who handled the project and also a parent of the school for the excellent work done.

On her part, Omotayo hailed the parents forum for the opportunity given her to serve.

She thanked the school’s management for the cooperation and support throughout the construction of the project.

According to her, the facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment that will provide world class medical services to students and staff of the institution.

Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, said in the statement that quality health care started with a commitment to health care which was evidence in decisions and actions toward health facilities.

Owens-Ibie said that the 16-bed ultramodern structure was a testament to the fact that the university was committed to quality healthcare.

He added that “the medical centre is situated at a serene and vantage location for easy accessibility to students and emergencies will quickly make it to the centre if the need arises.

“The facility has spacious general ward, semi-private wards, private wards and a theatre, increasing the admission and management capacity of the centre.

“It also features a dispensary with the required medications to handle emergencies and medical conditions that would be presented to the centre.

“The new ambulance also comes equipped with life support features to ensure care for patients.”

Dr Clinton Okonye, the school’s medical doctor, said that with the construction of the medical centre, greater things were ahead of the university.

Okonye stated that the new edifice would prove to the world that Caleb University was increasing her infrastructure to keep up with the growing population of students and staff.
