The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Niger on Monday postponed the destruction of 18 tonnes of illicit drugs earlier slated for Nov. 12 to Nov. 19.

This is contained in a statement signed by the NDLEA state Acting Commander, Mr Aloye Oludare and made available to Newsmen in Minna.
According to the statement, “the public destruction of 18 tonnes of hard drugs earlier slated for Nov.12 has been postponed to Thursday Nov.19 due to circumstances beyond the agency’s control.”

The agency regretted the inconveniences caused by the change and appealed to the relevant stakeholders to honour the new date.
The statement stated that the agency would continue to work toward eradicating hard drugs in the state.
