Widow prays court to recover N100, 000 from land agent

A widow, Amina Abdulwahab on Thursday prayed a Shari'a Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, to recover N100, 000 from a land agent.

The complainant, who resides in the Kaduna Millennium city, said she gave Idris Mami, N300, 000 to buy a plot of land for her children.

She said that Mami gave her back N200, 000 and refused the give her the balance of N100,000.

Abdulwahab said all efforts made by her to recover the remaining balance failed.

In his defence, the defendant, who was represented by his counsel, B.M Saeed denied liability, saying all allegations were untrue.

"My client gave the complainant all her money," the counsel said.

The judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, asked the complainant to produce witnesses.

The judge adjourned the matter until Jan. 13 for the complainant to present her witnesses.
