
A 23- year-old truck driver, Toheed Toluwaloju, on Thursday appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates' Court, Lagos for alleged dangerous driving.
The police charged Toluwaloju, who live in Eletu Boluwaji- Ibadan,Oyo State, with dangerous driving and causing damage.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 16, 2021 at Olopomeji expressway, Oworonshoki, Lagos.
Bassey alleged that the defendant allegedly drove his Mack truck number: BDG 159 XY recklessly without a valid road worthiness certificate, causing an accident and damaging a Hummer bus worth N2.5mill
He also said that the defendant refused to stop after the accident.
Perezi said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 19 and 36, schedule III item 11 of the Road Traffic Act of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2012.
Magistrate O.M. Ajayi admitted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum whose addresses must be verified.
Ajayi adjourned the case until Feb. 21 for mention.
