JUST IN: EFCC accuses Lagos States former Attorney-General for corruption

He is charged with getting Olufolakemi Adelore to accept $100,000 cash directly from him without going through a bank.

EFCC arraigned the former Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr Olasupo Shasore (SAN) before an Ikeja Special Offences Court on Friday for alleged corrupt offers to public officers.

Supreme reports that Shasore was also arraigned on Thursday before a Federal High Court, Lagos, on a four-count charge of money laundering.


The arraignment is set for Thursday. Shasore pleaded not guilty to all counts.


Olufolakemi Adelore is accused of being coerced into accepting $100,000 cash directly from him without going through a bank.


Shasore is also accused of giving $100,000 in cash to Ikechukwu Oguine directly, without going through a financial institution.


The two were attorneys for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (NNPC).


Sections78(c), 1(a), 16(1)(d), and 18(c) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended), are alleged to have been violated on or about November18, 2014.
