The Law Students Society of Ekiti State University, led by its President, Peter Tiamiyu, has called for a harmonious relationship between the students and the judiciary in the state.

The society made the call on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, during a courtesy visit to the Ekiti State Chief Judge, Justice John Adeyeye, in his office.

Addressing the Chief Judge, Tiamiyu thanked him for his fatherly role and support for the students at all times, while apologising for any way his predecessors might have offended the judiciary.

He added that harmonious relationship between the students and judiciary was sacrosanct and must be symbiotic in nature.

He requested for the Chief Judge's permission to allow EKSU Law students form part of his entourage to the correctional centres during his official visits.

In his response, Justice Adeyeye welcomed the students to his office and stressed that law students and by extension all students weree his children.

He said that the door of the judiciary was open to them as they could be visiting from time to time.

Adeyeye assured them of any form of assistance from the judiciary whenever the need arises and granted their request to be part of his entourage during his official visits to the correctional centre.

He charged them to make frequent use of the judiciary library to enhance their legal knowledge, especially during this Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the Chief Judge's portrait and donation of "THE JURIST CONSULT", an Ekiti State University Annual Publication of the Law Society, to Ekiti State Judiciary Library.

Present at the occasion are: executives and members of the EKSU Law Students Society and some Magistrates, among others.
