A 23-year-old woman Hajara Yusuf, who filed a suit against her husband Mustapha Muhammad at Shari’a court, Magajin Gari Kaduna state on Monday displayed her altered identity outside the court.

The complainant had prayed for her marriage dissolution on the grounds of alleged abuse by her husband where she presented a picture of her swollen face to the court.

Shortly after the judge, Malam Isiyaku Abdulrahman confirmed the one pronouncement of divorce mentioned by the defendant, the complainant was heard shouting outside the court room.

The noise was too loud causing spectators to leave the court room to find out what was going on after the court proceedings.

Yusuf was shouting “ba’ayi mun adalci ba in Hausa language” meaning justice was not served while insulting her ex husband.

She fell on the floor several times, lied down for some seconds before she stood up and continued shouting causing injury on her face, until her relatives held her tight.

One of the complainant’s relatives who pleaded anonymity said Yusuf was suffering from Jinn possession.

Earlier in court, the defendant had denied assaulting his wife saying he loved her.

He however made one pronouncement of divorce to the wife in the court following a witness testimony that the couple were always quarreling.
