An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, on Tuesday, remanded a 35-year-old scrap seller, Ibrahim Musa, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man, Auwal Ibrahim.

Musa was arraigned by the Lagos State Government on one-count charge of murder.

The court registrar read the charge to the defendant in English language and interpreted it to him in pidgin.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Abiola Soladoye, thereafter, remanded the defendant at the correctional centre, following his not guilty plea.

Soladoye adjourned the case until March 24, for commencement of trial.

The State Counsel, Ms Olufunke Alebiosu, had told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Feb. 22, 2021, at about 8.30 p.m. on P.Z. Plc Area, Odogunyan in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The prosecutor alleged that the defendant killed the deceased by stabbing him.

According to the prosecution, the alleged offences contravenes Section 223 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
