Court arraigns 3 men for allegedly stealing employer's N20m

Three men, who allegedly converted to their personal use, N20 million realised from sales of their employer's products, on Friday appeared before an Apapa Magistrates' Court, Lagos State.
The defendants – Jackson Ukpali, 40; Olumide Olufemi, 49, and Sam Agoziri, 51, have no fixed addresses and are being tried for conspiracy, fraud and stealing before the Magistrate, Mrs Y.O. Aje-Afunwa.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp Balogun Adeniyi, told the court that the trio and others still at large, committed the offences from January to April 2022 at No. 2, Dele Bakere St., Apapa, Lagos.
Adeniyi alleged that the defendants stole from Laudo Nig. Ltd.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 280 (2) (a), 363 (1) (a) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The court granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of N2.5 million, with two sureties each in like sum.
The court held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant and must show evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until May 30 for mention.
