The Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF) has unveiled a mental wellness solution to address corporate stress, anxiety, and stigma affecting Nigerian workers amid economic uncertainties.
CALMHAF Co-founder, Mrs Uzoamaka Nwachukwu, told journalists in Enugu on Thursday that the foundation developed the ThriveNaija Wellness Programme to transform workplace well-being and support organisational health.
Nwachukwu, a mental health advocate, described ThriveNaija as a transformative initiative that boosted employee productivity, promoted team bonding, and aligned with companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals.
“In Nigeria’s fast-paced corporate world, 36 per cent of workers experience regular stress.
“Yet, only 150 certified psychologists serve more than 200 million people,” Nwachukwu noted, citing the urgent need for intervention.
She said mental health challenges were increasingly affecting employees and organisations.
“The majority of Nigeria’s workforce operates under intense psychological pressure daily,” she said, calling for structured workplace support systems.
Nwachukwu said ThriveNaija used a holistic, evidence-based model combining WHO-endorsed relaxation techniques, professional counseling, mindfulness sessions, and stress management tools to foster workplace resilience and emotional strength.
“ThriveNaija is built for high-stress sectors like banking, telecoms, health services, and tech.
“It addresses unique challenges like decision fatigue, emotional overload, and customer service stressors.
“The programme boosts productivity by up to 20 per cent, reduces absenteeism, and strengthens team cohesion through workshops on emotional intelligence, decision-making, and team-building,” Nwachukwu explained.
She said ThriveNaija offered flexible formats, from virtual sessions to luxury in-person retreats, tailored to sector-specific stress triggers, including regulatory burdens and remote work isolation.
According to her, for individuals, including entrepreneurs and remote professionals, ThriveNaija addresses burnout and work-life imbalance, offering tailored solutions for mental restoration and ongoing emotional support.
Nwachukwu said ThriveNaija positioned companies as Mental Health Champions, helping reduce stigma, build psychological safety, and increase social impact within workplace and community environments.
According to her, ThriveNaija offers measurable results, with an estimated 5 pound return for every 1 pound invested.
