Georgian Environment Protection and Agriculture Minister, Levan Davitashvili, on Thursday tested positive for COVID-19.
“The minister feels well and continues to work at home.
“Those who had been in close contact with Davitashvili have been identified and moved to self-isolation,” the ministry told local media in a statement.
Georgia reported 3,120 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing its total to 69,681.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, 52,169 of the 69,681 patients have recovered.
The other 599 however, have died from the disease, the centre disclosed.
Georgia reported its first confirmed case on Feb. 26.
