Sani committed to capacity building in civil service – HoS

The Head of Service of Kaduna State, Mrs Jummai Bako, has lauded Gov. Uba Sani’s commitment to capacity building and professional development of the state’s civil service since assuming office.
Bako said this on Tuesday while inspecting Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres set up across the state to enable civil servants employed two years ago on probation to write their confirmation examinations.
She said that the exercise was crucial for strengthening the state’s workforce and ensuring that only qualified personnel were confirmed into the civil service.
“The purpose of us being here today is to inspect the civil service examination, which will ensure the confirmation of the appointment of civil servants who have been on the two-year probation,” she said.
Expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the examination, the HoS said that the process was smooth and well-coordinated.
“I am impressed by what I have seen so far, from the turnout to the orderly manner in which the exams are being conducted.
“For those experiencing challenges, invigilators are on ground to assist promptly,” Bako said.
She acknowledged the Governor’s support in providing the necessary funding and institutional backing for the exercise.
Bako described it as a clear demonstration of his dedication to job security and public sector reform.
“My appreciation goes to Gov. Uba Sani, for what he has done to better the civil service and for the funds provided for this exercise.
“His immense support has ensured job security for the civil servants of Kaduna State,” she stated.
Bako urged the civil servants to reciprocate the government’s gesture by demonstrating commitment to their duties and upholding high ethical standards in service delivery.
“We are equally expecting to see improvement.
“Just as His Excellency has been helping us in training them, we want to see civil servants who are committed and who maintain good work ethics,” she added.
The head of service explained that the CBT examinations would span three days, with 5,000 candidates from across all cadres of the civil service expected to participate in the exercise.
She disclosed that Zone 2 have the highest number of participants with 3,000 candidates, while Zones 1 and 3 have 1,000 candidates each.
The examinations are being held at three designated centres: Kaduna State University (Main Campus) for Zone 2, Federal College of Education, Zaria for Zone 1, and Kaduna State University’s Kafanchan Campus for Zone 3.
