Mr Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government and governorship candidate, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing speculation that he plans to defect to another party.
Nwosu revalidated his membership during the APC’s ongoing e-registration exercise in Eziama Obaire Ward, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
In a statement issued on Monday, he urged his supporters and residents of the area to register with the party and remain actively involved in political processes at all levels, stressing the importance of grassroots participation in nation-building.
The former governorship candidate debunked rumours linking him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing himself as a founding member of the APC with no intention of leaving the party.
“I remain a committed member of the APC. I will not abandon a house I helped to build,” he said.
Nwosu also reaffirmed that former Imo Governor, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, and other members of the Rescue Mission political family remain loyal to the APC.
The exercise was attended by party leaders and stakeholders, including ward executives, the ward councillor, the President General of Eziama Obaire, and the Director-General and executives of the Ugwumba Movement.
Also present were the Eze-Elect of the community, as well as former council chairmen from Nkwerre, Orsu and Isu Local Government Areas.
