
Chairman of Oye Local Government Council in Ekiti, Mr Sunday Ajimoko, on Friday, assured council workers of improved welfare.
Ajimoko gave the assurance in an interview in Oye-Ekiti.
He said that his administration would promote transparency and reward hard work, hence the need to encourage the workers to be more committed to their duties.
The chairman urged the workers to always be punctual and exhibit total commitment to their duties so as to promote the development of the local government.
"I want to assure the workers that their welfare will be given topmost priority.
"I am not a novice as far as the activities of local governments are concerned, because I was in charge of works department for many years before I retired.
"I have also worked in this local government, and to God be the glory, I'm back as the chairman to continue my good works.
"So, I know how workers can be motivated in order for them to be more effective and efficient in the discharge of their duties.
"I just want to appeal to every worker to be punctual, hardworking, committed and always work toward the success of the council," he said.
Ajimoko assured the workers of good working environment and adequate cooperation during his tenure.
