The Bayelsa House of Assembly on Thursday held a valedictory session in honour of its pioneer clerk, the late Chief Ebiegberi Domo-Spiff.

The Speaker, Mr Abraham Ingobere, said that the session was a tradition adopted by the assembly to honour demised colleagues and officers.

Ingobere described the late Domo-Spiff as a dedicated public servant whose legacy and contributions to the assembly would remain visible.

He extended the assembly’s condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Leader of the House, Mr Monday Obolo-Bubou, said that the late Domo-Spiff laid a solid foundation for succeeding clerks of the assembly to build upon.

He described the late pioneer clerk as a great leader who promoted peace both at work and in his community.

“Death is a common denominator for all, both young and old. We pray God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.

Brother of the deceased, Chief Henry Domo-Spiff, thanked the assembly’s leadership for standing with the family during the period of grief.
