The Mainland Independent Group (MIG) has declared its support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing the need for continuity to consolidate on ongoing reforms and sustain national development.

The group made its position known during a sensitisation and mobilisation programme held at the Lagos Mainland council secretariat on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tokunbo Oluwole, leader of the group, said that President Tinubu’s Administration represented hope for Nigerians, noting that the reforms being implemented required continuity to yield lasting benefits.

“Every meaningful transformation takes time. What we are seeing today are bold steps taken to reposition the country for a better tomorrow,” Oluwole said.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and patient, adding that sustained support for the president would allow ongoing policies to mature and positively impact the lives of citizens.

According to him, continuity in leadership will ensure stability, deepen economic reforms and strengthen democratic institutions.

The Director-General of the MIG, Mr Ibrahim Megida, described the gathering as a reaffirmation of the group’s belief in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.

Megida said that MIG remained committed to mobilising grassroots support, stressing that the president’s vision aligned with the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.

“Hope thrives where there is consistency. We believe that continuity will guarantee the full implementation of policies that will ultimately uplift the people,” he said.

The event also featured prayers offered by Christian and Muslim clerics for peace, unity and progress in the country.

Members were encouraged to participate actively in the All Progressives Congress (APC) ongoing e-registration exercise ahead of its expiration deadline, as part of efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots.
