2027: Group urges Musa-Maikaya to join Nasarawa governorship race

An interest group, Nasarawa Youths Coalition, has called on an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr Muhammed Musa-Maikaya to contest for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Chairman of the coalition, Mr Yahaya David, made the call at a news conference on Monday in Lafia.
David said that the call had become imperative because of his exceptional leadership qualities and commitment to youth empowerment and governance.
According to him, the youths in the state want Musa-Maikaya because of his consistency and unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes in spite of his unsuccessful attempt in the previous election.
He recalled that the APC chieftain had given scholarships to indigent students across the 13 local government areas (LGAs) of the state as well as palliatives to those affected by various disasters.
David further stated that Musa-Maikaya had empowered thousands of women and youths through his foundation, expressing the belief that if given the opportunity as governor, he would do more.
“He has proven that leadership is not about title, but about heart, vision and action.
“He has become a beacon of hope in times of despair, a silent benefactor in need and a reliable friend to those seeking a better future.
“His deep connection with the grassroots, humility and warm appeal have endeared him to the hearts of many, particularly women and youths.
“We see in him a leader who listens, understands our struggles and genuinely seeks our uplift, hence the reason for the call on him to contest,” he added.
David expressed optimism that with the proven record of selfless service, strategic insight, industry and inclusive mindset, Musa-Maikaya would lead the state into a new era of unity, development and prosperity.
Also, representatives of youth groups from the 13 LGAs of the state spoke on why they had decided to call on the APC chieftain to contest for the governorship of the state contrary to the normal tradition.
Tenimu Black, Hawa Isa and John Uhuman, from Toto, Wamba, and Awe LGAs respectively, who spoke on behalf of others, said that Musa-Maikaya had impacted the lives of the common people across the state.
According to them, he has been helping people without recourse to their ethnic, political and religious affiliations.
They also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in all sectors across the state.
Supreme news reports that the event had in attendance youth groups from all the 13 council areas of the state.
