Mrs Zainab Ibrahim, Deputy National Woman Leader of the party said the advocacy became imperative because without PVC nobody would be allowed to participate in the process of electing new leaders in 2023.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northern Women Caucus has called on women who are yet to register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to do so in order to vote in 2023.

The group made the call on Friday in Lafia at the inauguration of campaign to mobilise woman of Northern extraction to get their PVCs ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Mrs Zainab Ibrahim, Deputy National Woman Leader of the party said the advocacy became imperative because without PVC nobody would be allowed to participate in the process of electing new leaders in 2023.

"The campaign is to reorient women to register for PVC, those who registered and have not collected should go and get it.

"It is also aimed at sensitising women to desist from election violence and contribute towards electing candidates of their choices in 2023," she said.

Ibrahim also called on Nigerians to vote for the APC presidential flag bearer, Sen. Bola Tinubu, given his performances while as governor of Lagos State.

She explained that Tinubu had done well as a governor and if elected as the next President, would transform the country.

She expressed optimism that Tinubu would fix the problem of insecurity and make the economy of the country the strongest in Africa.

The women leader called on the people of Nasarawa State to re-elect Gov. Abdullahi Sule for second term based on his achievements in the last three years.

Also speaking, Zarah Audu, North-Central Woman Leader of the party, urged women and other Nigerians to take their civil responsibility seriously by ensuring they register, collect their PVCs and vote during election.

She encouraged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu in order secure the future of the country.

Hajiya, Silifat Sule, wife of Nasarawa State governor, noted that women were always the highest voters and 2023 should not be different.

She, therefore, urged women not to disenfranchise themselves by registering to vote for APC in 2023.

In her remarks, Hadiza Rufai, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, lauded the group for the advocacy and pledged to partner any group fighting for the rights of women.

The Commissioner added that her ministry had been doing a lot of advocacy to mobilise woman and youths to register and get their PVCs.

Rufai commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for extending the deadline for the closing of the voter registration exercise and urged those yet to register to take advantage of the extension.
