9-year-old girl delivers baby girl, police detain father over alleged rape

A nine-year-old girl known as "Tsholotso Child" gave birth to a baby girl at Zimbabwe's United Bulawayo Hospital.
The Tsholotso girl who is a victim of rape becomes the youngest mom ever after successfully delivering the baby.
Zim Live reports that the baby was delivered by caesarean section on Monday morning by the minor.
After having the baby successfully, the rape victim becomes the youngest mother in history.
Dr. Harrison Rambanapasi, acting clinical director of UBH, said: "I would want to inform the nation that our nine-year-old gave birth at UBH." Early this morning, our doctors conducted the C-section. The result is a healthy baby girl who weighs little more than 3kg. The mother and the child are both doing well.
Meanwhile, the minor's father was detained in August after it was found she was pregnant.
The victim's father was the only male relative she had. Furthermore, the victim stated that the abuse occurred solely at night.
The birth of the child will serve as the foundation for a paternity test to identify the rape culprit.
The rape victim recently told her foster mother that the sexual assault occurred only at night, after the lights were turned off.
Her father allegedly informed her that a "goblin" would come and inject something into her private regions before the sexual abuse.
Her father would tell her after the assault that the goblin had fled through the window, which baffled her because she remembered her mother locking the window before the lights went out.
Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe's First Lady, paid a visit to the then-pregnant victim on Saturday, bringing food and other necessities.
