Allyson Felix becomes the most decorated American in Olympic athletics with an 11th medal, a gold as part of a star-studded 4×400 metres team.

The 35-year-old Felix ran the second leg in a team that also boasted 400m hurdles gold medallist and world record-holder Sydney McLaughlin.

There was also 400m hurdles world champion and silver medallist Dalilah Muhammad and 800m gold medallist Athning Mu.

They clocked a super-fast three minutes 16.85 seconds to get gold ahead of European champions Poland (3:20.53) and Jamaica (3:21.24).

Felix won 400m bronze on Friday and her 11 medals are one more than Carl Lewis on the men’s side.
