Ekiti Varsity to accelerate processing of transcripts
The management of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday said it had put in place measures to accelerate the processing of transcripts in the institution.
Mr Bode Olofinmuagun, Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, disclosed this in statement in Ado-Ekiti.
According to him, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, the Institution's Vice-Chancellor, disclosed the plan while addressing members of the EKSU Alumni Association, Oyo State chapter, in Ibadan during the chapter's first public lecture and New Year Get-Together.
Olofinmuagun said Olanipekun assured that with the measure put in place, it would no longer take more than 72 hours to process transcripts.
He said the Vice-Chancellor used the opportunity to apologise to all alumni who might have had harrowing experience while processing transcripts.
"Olanipekun also assured that as from the next convocation ceremony, graduands would be collecting their certificates once they are through with the clearance and payment of all prescribed fees.
"The VC noted that with the support of the Alumni Association, the university has moved forward in its ranking.
"He further assured that the university Management would continue to support the Alumni Association with a view to ensuring that the university ranks among the best globally," Olofinmuagun said.
Olofinmuagun disclosed that the first public lecture of the chapter was delivered by Congressman Bimbo Daramola with the title: EKSU@40: "Exploring the Tangible and Intangible Potential of a University for Self Actualisation in the 21st Century.
Olofinmuagun said Daramola had in his lecture charged EKSU to re-assess its focus of knowledge to contemporary research methods for the benefit of the society.
According to him, Daramola expressed the need for EKSU to begin to produce graduates that would be relevant in the 21st century.
Olofinmuagun said both Olanipekun and Daramola were honoured with the alumni prestigious leadership awards at the ceremony.
